MOUNT ST. HELEN'S erupts and is a very big deal
JOHN WAYNE GACY is sentenced.( the only killer clown worse than the IT character)
MIAMI RIOTS ( inspires the movie Scarface.Al Pacino 1983)
RUBIK'S CUBE introduced to the world
CNN debuts
RONALD REAGAN elected president of the us (a celebrity elected as president? that will never happen again)
WINTER OLYMPICS.LAKE PLACID NY (do you believe in miracles?)
FAX MACHINES invented in Japan
J.R. EWING GETS SHOT (the shooter of all the suspects was revealed. the line was long)
NINE TO FIVE (the first me too movement)
JESSICA SIMPSON and MACAULEY CULKIN were born

My birthday was on a Thursday October 16th. What was my view of the world at the time?..."TE-LE-VISION. I don't know what this is or how it works but we're going to be good friends"

I love the way you look back over the years. I didn't realize how young you are, not that it really matters. In December of 1980 I turned 40. Everything was, and still is, working. Ta da!
