Once I ran

Once I ran and hid my pain
Afraid to face it in my brain
Too much running lost my way
Find a home but never stay
Never felt like I belong
****
Living life one day at time
Always searching for a rhyme
Was always floating in the sky
Hated my life and wanted to die
But now my feet are on the ground
Walking around but now I'm found

Well, IMany people can relate to this. you're an amazing poet and I envy your style of writing. Your work is always enjoyable. You have a sense of the world, and a sense of who you are and what you're feeling. You cough up all the things inside you, and spit out a bunch of meaningful words. It's never easy to put it all out on the table, but you took the chance. it's very true that you have to live your life one day at a time, unexpecting of anything. S**t happens... and we move forward. There's always something to be joyous about.... whenever I am feeling down, my cousin asks me, "What's one thing that made you happy today?" Just get's ya thinking about the wonders in life. You should try it sometime. It might work for you. And who knows, maybe the pain will lessen after a while. Hold tight to your dreams! Keep writing! ( A wonderful read by the way! I love personal poetry. It doesn't have to be the precedented impersonal stuff.)

I can certainly relate to these emotions as well. Many of us have been at very low points only to be brought higher thankfully by grace. Well expressed, succcint and very personal. Nice of you to share so much of your True Self.

Well said and very relatable. Our life experiences, no matter good or bad, rich or painful, defines us. Thank God for the art, for the words, for the ability to put them down in a profound and meaningful way, not only for ourselves but as a gift to be shared with others.

Lives are changed through words. But I think you already know that. ;)

We all encounter that journey. There comes a time when we are lost and it seems running is the only option we are left with. In the end, we realize that running just took us farther from our destination, and so we sit down to ponder some, deciding on a new course of action. That is when we make the change and search and are found. A touching poem.

I have a bit of critique, if you don't mind.
The line 'like the words in the song' sounded like it was thrown in because it rhymed. To me, it doesn't add anything more, it just simply exists and possibly detracts from it. So, that being said, when going for that nice rhyme scheme, don't over do it. If you want a rhyme, let every line and every rhyme have some sort of contribution. That line could easily be omitted and the poem would still carry that emotional feel and hit home in many hearts of the readers. Or, it could be revised into something that had a stronger or deeper message. Perhaps there is already a message you have written in that line, if that is the case, perhaps emphasis is needed.

Nonetheless
a solid and decent piece of poetry.
I did like it quite so.
Cheers.

Find a home but never stay

you managed to put so much emotion in to such few lines.
