All day speeding into the lunchbox

Sending spies to your own demise

Don’t hate the day it’s not so crazy

I’m still here tossing into calm water

Don’t try to know me for yesterday

Few knew but never a photo shoot

Sacrifice the fate for days of taste

I am a winner so you are forgiven

Anxiety uncharted so we change

Different rains mixed with the pain

Future sprained by beautiful flame

My feet don’t like the ground today

Gosh this one has me thinking! At 06:00 in the morning that is a difficult concept! Struck me that we simply rush through life trying to get through each work day as we head towards death and you advocate a slower pace where the here and now matters more that the past and anything that may have happened there. But the piece urges a recognition that life is full of ups and downs and emotions and some days are good some are bad.

The “Rat Race” with it’s gear-jamming angst and charades is described so well here as a contrast to the simplicity and serenity you long for. Great form, flow, cadence, inner rhyme, musicality. I hear it percussively spoken- Pow! Great write duff! Love it.

Thank you Annette for such a warm review!
Your well-written msg full of fresh imagery brings to mind the struggle of staying centered & maintaining my peace o mind when it can sometimes feel like the world is spinning out of balance or swerving off kilter. Love your attention to the way words sound in interesting collections (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
