memories

memories

A Poem by Carmin Barnes

// theres make up smeared across your face

from the night before’s uncontrollable thoughts

that could only seem but linger in the the things you carry with you everyday

like the can of old Coke you wont move from that one spot in the corner of your room

in fear that the memories will go with it

and just as you feared losing the maker of those memories you fear losing

every last reminisce of them

every last thing they left behind//
