See and Saw

See and Saw

A Poem by Amanda A. Abraham

were stuck here forever.
transparent glass bowl shatters shards
flung across white tile
a pile of dead leaves for a dying season
in one fluid motion
bolt that door the thousandth time.

one week, two month's rebellion and the evenutal,

inevitable cowering
that nectar from your lips
like honey, it drips
press your skin against mine.

as i lay my head down beside yours

have we any other
choice?
