Pushing Through It All

Pushing Through It All

A Poem by thefrozenfire
"

My past is like ripped pages of a novel.

"
I write on my palm
Forbidden words I would never say aloud
In this world, so naked
Stripped from my true feelings
Having to find myself from the suffocating crowd
I've asked myself repeatedly
If I was worth it all
As soon as I make up my mind of throwing it all away
My memories play back to me
Like a slideshow on a projector wall
My eyes flitter
The metal taste never escaping my lips
I have so much to say,
So much to give
Why do I always have regrets?
I guess your past is only footsteps behind you
But sometimes I want to be left alone
I'm capable of making my own decisions
Always paranoid of darkness returning
And swallowing me into it's home.
I've made a lot of mistakes
But I have learned from them all
Moving on, I've made my peace
Looking forward to life, I have my dreams...
And I will achieve them
Doing what ever it takes.

This is just a poem about my true feelings on my life. My past has affected me so much, and I'm adapting. I love all of my friends, and I thank them so much for getting me through all of my problems.

Gee, this is a very good poem. The start gave me the sad feeling of regret over threading on the past but the next verses seem to glimmer with hope and light in the future. Truly, the past is only footsteps behind and all we have to do is step forward to move on. You've played your words and your emotions well. Great job.
