Butterfly

Butterfly

A Poem by Pooja Patel
"

A short piece on depression, eating disorders, and escapism.

"
Every night
she prayed
that her protruding shoulder blades
would sprout into
a pair of wings.

Every morning
she awakened
to be disappointed.

too be truly free one must find them-self in the
of a nebular escaping the darkness and feeling
the suns glow against there face when they awake

I love this poem !! It shows a abundance of emotion in such little words.

A powerful and striking metaphor for something destructive and dark. A very strong piece.
