deep dark indigo violet

deep dark indigo violet

A Poem by The Purple Kazoo
"

the title says it all.

"

the child of

overripe raspberries

and dark wash blue jeans

painter’s choice

for a combination

of passion

and tranquility

add white,

she is disarmingly innocent.

add yellow,

and she suddenly sours.

add blue

for her to be more profound than ever.

add black

and a touch of red,

you get a murderer

with an overdose of spirit.

from each parent,

she learned some tricks:

from indigo,

the gift of listening

the ability to calm the cruelest storm,

sorrowful violin music

on a summer’s day.

from mulberry,

shadowed love,

hate in hiding,

the art of being shallow

yet impossibly deep.

Great read.

sweet simple yet profound

I've read a couple of your things and am just digging in now. You are a rainbow with texture.

So much of what we are right now is a result of the artists called parent or teacher or lover or enemy. Isn't it good that we choose how to wear the tapistry woven into us?

Clever writing but not too clever as in gimmicky....thanks.

holy crap, one of the best poems I've read on here. no joke. it's choppy and colorful and unexpected. i wish i could quote bits of it, to tell you which parts are my favorite, but I like ALL OF IT .... your imagery is insane.

the child of
overripe raspberries
and dark wash blue jeans...
the art of being shallow
yet impossibly deep.

I love these lines. How do you come up with it all?

I love your metaphor
and the third stanza is perfection
as we all are subject to mood swings
in response to the world.
