Which side

I see the devil in me,
Though Sundays oblivious to him.
They say everyone is beautiful, 
though looks can be deceiving
Lucifer was once an angel too.
a beautiful one,
But what am i  if i'm down here?
If the devil is below me,
and God is above me,
Then what i am?
Who am i?
I sit on the fence although the fence is between both different worlds'
But which side do i sit on?
The devil's or Gods?

I am really enjoying your work! This is another that is so thought provoking that I am sitting here wondering how to express what I am thinking. Here goes - I think we all have dark and light in us...that is the battle. As the old saying says (paraphrased) the one that gets strongest is the one you feed. Aren't we all straddling the fence at times...it is so confusing this life. Your lines about what is beautiful and how do you tell...indeed. Some of the cruelest and wicked people I have known had beautiful veneers and spoke soft, enticing words. Snakes have their own beauty perhaps, but some are deadly and most humans have a primal fear of them even in symbolism.
Well, well...you have me rambling again. I've already told you what that means.

Truth be told, im still searching for my answers, and thank you Chris i appreciate your warm welcome.

Some write of "real" and other use Memorex. Some are offended if a listener deems their work personal. I LOOK for the person IN their words... it doesn't make you "easier" to understand but it makes you real and worth being heard.

All of my works are either my personal experiences that i face till this day and others are my darkest memories that only others like us (poets) know. The irony is, is that not even what i consider my closest friends do not know these part of me, they know me as the happy go lucky girl, whom is always smiling. This, my work here on writers cafe and other similar websites, are the real me.
