Perfume and Cigarettes

Perfume and Cigarettes

A Poem by *joy*

Most remember laughter

Or a twinkle of the eye

I remember the way she smelled

And her smoky kiss good-bye

She always loved those leather pants

And the bike she rode for kicks

But what she loved more than the rest

Were candied fumes and paper sticks

Never was she afraid to live

Testing fate till it was spent

Always carried two things with her

Camels and her sweetest scent

Now she's being put underground

And I doubt she had regrets

But I can almost hear her saying

I can't forget my perfume... or my cigarettes

This was a wonderful piece of writing in dedication to someone who was by all accounts a bit of a gal, saddle back and enjoy the ride, she tried to reach her dreams and had her vice which were her ciggies and smelling sweet like primrose in an early morning dew.
Your vivid accounts and colourful descriptions make for an outstanding write.
I am an inch away from eccstasy a feeling of finding a unique friend perhaps only writing brings me this close well done.

Great adaptation of why the scent of perfume and cigarettes was prevalent to Ms. Satisfaction in regards to her temptation of sorts. Very well penned. I applaud your penmanship as a poet. Great job. :)

This was very well written. I like the description of the girl and the ending. What i got off it was enjoy life to the full, just like this person because you dont know when you will be taken. And the fact you rememeber her in such a way that you have provided her with a legacy anyway. Its not a depressing poem more like a message and remembrance all in one and that takes skill. Very well done.
