A Wasted Dream?

A Wasted Dream?

A Poem by therisa

Am I mad
In thinking
Peace is possible?

Given our historical record
Of finding new ways
To kill each other.

During our march
Into modernity
And enlightenment
(One hopes).

And yet
It's the rare person
Living on society's fringes
Who offers hope
I and others
Are seeking for.

A message
At odds
With the violence
Of modern society
Which rewards the aggressors
Punishing everyone else.

As the headlines
Flash before us
Announcing the latest genocide
And ethnic cleansing.

Maybe
I am dreaming
But right now
Humanity is acting
Like a parasite
With our actions.

This was a interesting piece

but I will say this we are in the end times
just as it was for the disciples in the biblical times
as when I was a child it wasn't this dangerous and violent.

John14:27 Peace I leave with you,
my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John15:11These things have I spoken unto you,
that my Joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.

John15:12 This is my commandment,
that ye love one another, as I have loved you.

even if one is a sinner I still love them
love the sinner and hate the sin I have loved
my enemies in my life I mean ones that hate me that I've
done nothing wrong to not the devil
but God isn't our Enemy
it is the Devil and if one Agrees not with same sex Marriage
don't mean they're wrong or hateful as they are agreeing
with God weather they're are Gay or Lesbian I will still
show them love and kindness but I am not lesbian and no one
is born that way and nothing will change my mind but do know
that I have always been kind in my life.

Hate isn't God, God is love He is the Judge also
but he Hates sin and evil but he is pure so there is no
sin in him.

luke6:27 But I say unto you which hear,
Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

luke6:28 Bless them that curse you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you.

luke6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good,
and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward
shall be great, and ye shall be the children of highest:
for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

1Corinthuans13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Charity means love and puffed up is selfish pride.

1Corinthians13:13 and now abideth faith, hope, charity,
these three, but the greatest of these is charity.

1peter5:7cast all your care upon him;
for he careth for you.

fear is of the devil as is comes not from god
we all have it but it chokes my spirit and my hope
and I rebuke it and it stops.

2Timothy1:7 For god hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

luke6:29 and unto him that smiteth thee
on one cheek offer also the other;

Matthew5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, and pray for them which
despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves,
but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine;
I will repay, saith the LORD.

This isn't to offend you I was raised to respect my elders
and taught to love shown it to love unconditionally not to hate
if a Christiana doesn't love than that isn't a Christian
as we don't hate Jesus is love.

You can't love God and hate your fellow human beings.

Thank you for sharing this piece and for your
