Never Again

Never Again

A Poem by The Dark Passenger
"

Inspired by the My Chemical Romance song: "I never told you what I did for a living"

"

Would you still love me in the morning

If I'm still good and breathing

Would you still reach to touch me

With those fingers cold and blistering

Hold you closer if I could

But these chains sure do kill the mood

Shackles never burned so hatefully

I told you I was never any good

Six feet deep they throw us in

Even if I formed the words, where would I begin?

See what desperate measures called me to

Just a pawn for playing in this world of sin

Kiss me just once before the blaring gunshot

Before the earth takes back what the earth begot

In silence forever I'll wish I was true

I never did baby, I never meant to hurt you

Author's Note

The Dark Passenger
What it's about:
Based on My Chemical Romance's "I never told you what I did for a living", the poem is about a hit man's final moments with his loved one. Unknowingly, she is brought into his dark world of crime and slaughtered as is he. Their captors tie them up and throw them into a grave, and before the final gunshots to end both their lives, the hit man wishes he had a chance to tell her the truth.

I never told you what I did for a living...

This is amazing. One of my favorites for sure. =] Your descriptions are so vivid and the poem itself holds such a deep, and powerful message. A lot of people can relate to this poem &+ I think that's why I enjoyed it so much; it was because I can relate. Very well and nicely done! Keep up the amazing poems.
