Seek me, I am here

Seek me, I am here

A Poem by The Dark Passenger
"

sometimes i can feel so alone in a crowd of people...

"

Here's the gates to hell

and here the stair to heaven

open and uneven

mistakes un-forgotten

what careless mistakes this heart has made

when will i ever learn

that the wicked will always prosper

and the good and kind will burn

this mask is wearing ever thin

and this heart can't bear the weight

what if the world can't love me

what if they sicken at the sight

the crowds drown me out

and they nudge pass me as they run

i walk the other way

a knot tied around my tongue

hear this shallow heartbeat

that's drumming in my skin

wishing i didn't need saving

and falling further past the brink

This poem is stunning! The stanza:

what careless mistakes this heart has made
when will i ever learn
that the wicked will always prosper
and the good and kind will burn

is very true, and so brilliantly written! Almost lyrical. The images and metaphors in this poem are vivid,
and yet haunting, especially 'hear this shallow heartbeat, that's drumming in my skin' and the ending stanza
was absolutely perfect too!
Thanks so much for sharing!
