The Shortest Story Ever Told

The Shortest Story Ever Told

A Poem by The Voice Inside Me

Maybe someday, after this thing kills me, someone will notice what had gone unnoticed years before.

Maybe someday, I won't try to change myself for other people, and I will love me.

Maybe someday, I will see that he loves me, and that's all I need.

It may be short but you used a few words well. It sure conveys a lot of emotion. But more than anything else, I find it relatable which is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

Hi there,
Yes indeed, a very short poem, though I have seen shorter ones on this site.
The line "Maybe someday, I won't try to change myself for other people," was something I could definitely relate to, having had people expecting me to conform.
Best not to do that, it generally doesn't make anything better, for them or for oneself.
Thanks for sharing

Short indeed, but sometimes beauty doesn't need many words. Thank you for this!
