If Time Were An Absence

If Time Were An Absence

A Poem by The Voice Inside Me

My love,
sing sweetly we.
Sing of songs not known to anyone else.
Sing the songs only we lovers know.
Sing sweetly we.
Sweetly now.

Time has gone away,
oh where has it gone?
Into the absence,
of what was then and now.
Then and now.

Run with me!
Love fly with me!
There is no sky and time.
No earth or wind,
to tie us down.

So take my hand.
Feel our story intertwined.
Grape vines reaching up,
into the sun.

We climb day by day,
never will we stop.
Don't stop us now.
So don't stop us now.

Run with me!
Love fly with me!
There is no sky and time.
No earth or wind,
to tie us down.

The future is ours.
let us take what we now own.
Out into the world,
into the world.

Come with me,
and you will see,
a picture not yet painted.
It's ours to choose,
the story is tells.
Let's paint the picture now,
paint it now.

Run with me!
Love fly with me!
There is no sky and time.
No earth or wind,
to tie us down.

Hold me in your arms,
let me feel your embrace.
Let me fall with you,
so fall with me.

Your lips on mine,
forever and ever.
Our name on my tongue,
The wind cannot steal it away.

Run with me!
Love fly with me!
There is no sky and time.
No earth or wind,
to tie us down.

If time is an absence,
then let us take the lead.
Down the path,
where our future holds.
To where it holds.

I'll wait for you,
in the sun.
because love,
it's just you and me now.
Just you and me.
