cosmic transfixion

cosmic transfixion

A Poem by Ioana Georgiana

we’re light years apart

you, the ever so scorching sun

myself, always revolving around you

my axis is overthrown by your power

isn’t it curious how we’re so close in this galaxy

yet so unaware

how insignificant must i be

but i always allow myself to be burnt by your aura

my transfixion surpasses time and space

for i will always wait for a sign

that you show

the naked truth

i wait, and wait and wait

until, one day, i just give up

i stop opening up

and i let myself fall

without expecting you to catch me

i might fall among the stars

but this time, gravity shall save my soul.
