shiver

you forgot the window open

after you left

in the middle of the night

 

there’s a shadow in my bed

the sheets run cold around me

i shiver

 

for i am not cold

but lonely

in this big white room of mine

 

i figured

you weren’t coming back

by the way you held me

 

something told me

you were gone

long before

 

you walked out that door

what did you feel?

i felt shame
