That Night

I remember it vividly

Every moment

We were laughing and talking

Then suddenly it changed

It's all my fault

Although he won't say it

He was scared to

But I know it was me

I had warned him before

"Don't get too close"

"I'll scare you away"

But he didn't listen

And ever so slowly 

I pushed him away

And it was over 

Almost as quickly as it began

But I'm not over him

And I don't know if I will ever be

But for now we are just friends

And I hope for the life of me 

That once again we will be more

Than just friends

And have the love 

There once was

But it's over for now...
