Mirror of Romance

Mirror of Romance

A Poem by thost
"

Moonlight Sonnet

"

Waking I wondered why morning is calm,

I opened my hands and gazed way too long,

Answers etched in every line of my palm.

I’m tired of this world everything is wrong,

Try to look inside from the cold outside,

Gaze at old photos that captures sweet time,

Glossed paper who’s holding her now I cried,

Such wasted beauty what an awful crime.

I don’t talk you know there’s nothing to say,

Alone in this room with the cool moonlight,

Come back to me girl it’s our special day,

Let me kiss you now it will be all right.

The music’s playing lets have one last dance.

Swirl round the mirror oh what a romance.

The flow of this sonnet...I liked the last two lines keep everything into perspective in the write... the third stanza is needing a couple comma to give the read a better flow:

I don’t talk, you know there’s nothing to say,
Alone in this room with the cool moonlight,
Come back to me girl, it’s our special day,
Let me kiss you now, it will be all right.

the lines seem to run into each other...
