Poverty vs. USA

Poverty vs. USA

A Poem by Tierney Heilman

A dry scorching sun,

hunters with no gun.

Ladies with barrels

trek miles of perils.

Sandals made of old bottle,

and a torn tarp to model.

A new SUV,

blasting the AC.

Cell phone is ringing,

Party tonight, what are you bringing?

A loud television

blasting commercialism.

This was great. My only suggestion is that I wanted more. It was an excellent poem and the topic is a great one. It is just my personal opinion that you should keep adding to it because it is screaming for more! It would make very powerful slam type poem for sure. They rhyme scheme and the wording is excellent and very effective.
