Acceptance

Acceptance

A Poem by Mauricio Montoya
"

be true to thy self

"

Acceptance

Acceptance, acceptance, acceptance,

How much can I bite before I Chew?

I’ve been through this dilemma,

Yet there’s always something new.

Can a bark be louder and more than it is true?

Coming from all directions,

 I really thought I knew.

Running with this question,

 I beat around the bushel.

With hopes I’ll find the answer

That for me would seem so crucial,

Yet

I’ll cry, I’ll laugh and smile,

For

Me, my self, and I,

And

Put away that pride.

 To

Catch my breath and sigh.

When we are able to transform our anger into understanding and penn such a message into that which touches other, it is considered a "job well done"!
Rage is certainly appropriate at times, and has the power to change when vented in the right way as you have done in your write!

Sometimes it's best when we let out our frustration on page than in actuality. I hear what you are saying and can relate to some of what you're trying to convey. I have always enjoyed your writing, and wish there was more time to read all. Do keep up the great writing too.

To be accepted for whom we are
Remember when you’re feeling down or anger
Crying is good it cleanses the soul
And you can turn rage into laughter
Remember Mauricio you’re not fully dressed
Until you put on your smile :)
Beautiful melancholy verse
Fantastic job.....Hugssss

The slow shift into calm is wonderfully done here; there's an agitated start that gradually fades, line by line by line .. and all the way through there's your fine meter and choice of words. I've read most of your writing, and think this could be my favourite .. but might have said that before a few times! :)

Great setup! I really really liked how you went from anger and raging to calming yourself down and showing that with words "Yet, For, And, To" It felt like someone ranting then counting to 10 to bring themselves down, wonderful job!

love the rhyming scheme here...its rather difficult to write a rant that rhymes perfectly well! good job!

The day that people accept themselves for who they are and can be comfortable, will be graeat day for sure. Then we can start accepting others for what they are, I wonder how many problems that would solve. Really liked this, thought provoking for sure.

acceptance is not easy; how do we accept others while denying ourselves...sometimes its about setting all of them and ourselves from expectations...insightful piece
