unremitting friendship

unremitting friendship

A Poem by Tinasha LaRayé
"

oh how time's change, friendships seem to end...but in all honesty, those two friends just shifted into new places in their newly separate lives...fighting for what they shared long ago.

"

Times ain’t like they used to be

Learning ROY G BIV colors, ABC’s and 123’s

Only doing what Simon said do

Turning Red lights green ‘til the cow jumped over the moon

Time takes a toll on one’s heart

Bringing the light to the dark

Bringing truth to a childhood of fictional tales

A full breath of facts inhaled

The unexpected impaled

Yet and still we take it all in stride

The sand not washed away from the tide

Only moved here and there

But nowhere that can’t be found

No moment being bound

For it steadily moves forward

Dodging the weight of restraint

Two shells of the open sea refusing to wait

For the unremitting motion of time thinning

Relishing in the crisp waves beating against the face of existence

Of friendship and of regret

Of discord and of time spent

Soaking in the salt with the moonlight

And bathing in its splendor

Unconscious of the current that propels us back to where we first met

Meet and greet

Greet and part

Carried off in the dark

But not washed away

Still…

Steady…

Time…

Makes us all ready

To do what it is we will do

Whether Simon says so or not to

These two shells will always be two

Under the same light of the splendid moon

Wading ‘til the next tide makes its move
