Beauty

A Poem by Tinasha LaRayé
"

A poem I wrote for a girl I trained for a pageant. The time spent turned into a mentorship turned into a sisterhood that can't be broken. :o)

"

A question to be asked

An answer to be known

To see the world with simple eyes

And love it for its oath:

To show you joy

To show you pain

To give you all it’s truth

To not hold back the bittersweet

And teach you through your youth

Beauty is your cocoa skin

Your love for who you are

Beauty is your passion

Beauty is your heart

Beauty is your confidence

Your strut, your step, your stride

Beauty is intelligence

Beauty is self-pride

Beauty is your fear to fall

Yet walking, nonetheless

Upon the shaky limb called life

To the fruits of your success

Beauty is your long black hair

Beauty is your smile

And what does lie beneath it all

Is truly what’s worthwhile

Beauty is your faith, your light

Your love for Him, unseen

Beauty is your purpose

Beauty is your dreams

Beauty is your poise and charm

Your journey to be queen

Beauty is this poem

Describing you to me

Beauty is a kiss, a tear

A laugh, a hug, a fight

Beauty is the daybreak

Beauty is the night

Beauty is you searching

For your beauty on this earth

Beauty is your existence

Beauty is your worth

Beauty is not a smell, a look

Not a thing to be embraced

No tangible emulsion

Can paint true beauty’s face

Beauty shines through living life

And building with what it brings

Beauty takes time by the hand

And flies upon its wings

Beauty is a state of mind

A place that can’t be touched

Beauty breathes through humble lips

Beauty is self-love

Beauty is the mirror

Reflecting you, my child

Beauty is the little girl

Looking at her smile

Beauty is the little girl

Running to her smile

Beauty flows from you, my child

Like waters in the Nile.

Look on

Run on

And Be…

This poem has many stanzas that can be re-arranged in order. Any suggestions on which stanza should go where?

No need to switch around these stanza's. Each one plays
beautifully off of one another. A strong solid and lets
not forget, a beautiful write.....

I do believe you've perfected beauty itself within the ebb and flow of this gorgeous poem~ the stanzas blend perfectly~ no shifting needed whatsoever~ bravo!~ should be a poetic mantra for young women who have been erronously taught by a skewed society/media that beauty is a one dimensional face/body thing and all their worth is in their physical appearance~
this poem is a poignant lesson for young ones searching for fleeting painted beauty that is elusive at best~
