An Ode to Poems

Just a little word play...but also a look into my life.

Have you ever lived inside a poem? 

Sat down at the dinner table to scheme with rhymes 

and color in and outside the lines with baby meters? 

Kissed a couplet on the cheek, 

not once, 

but twice for alliteration? 

Ever take a long epic nap on a fictional mattress, 

stirring metaphoric dreams that foreshadow your tomorrow? 

Fill the hollow hungry of a personified verse running free, 

rising the action until the world gets your theme 

and wants to see your point of view, 

so they come looking for you at your poetic abode?

......No? Well, come knock on my denouement, 

I'm home

...bored with all this exposition 

and could really stand a visit 

to brighten my tone.

Beautiful write...there are times I live for the beauty of words in poetry...times, where I starved myself in hunger, just to read poems...my thirst satiated in vocabulary...I live it every day...I write purging my soul...a sinful life where I ask forgiveness everyday...a naked soul transparent in its search for Love, that is elusive, and fight for it...and I let it go, just to know poetically, the rebirth from each day that beats every inch of life of me.
