If Only

I accidentally wrote a depressing poem (yes, it was an accident)

If only I had taken another step,

or not taken the bet,

or happened to be wet.

If only I was there,

or here,

or somewhere.

If only I had better luck,

my happiness would be bigger.

If only I wasn't such a coward, 

then I could pull the trigger.
