HOW I RECALL

HOW I RECALL

A Poem by CHRIS ANDES
"

to a friend :)

"
the moment your fingers
waved to say goodbye
you turned around
to walk on by,
back then I melted
as the rain falls
so strong
and let you fade,
and my eyes blinked
for a moment
or two,
how I recall
that your stare
grip my hands
to close the door,
we talked like children
sittin' on a bench of autumn bright.

Then our smiles so close
it touched the sky
to be the stars  yet
those Hi's
still say GOODBYE.

Allthough the piece as a whole has a light and vibrant feel, there is a dark undertone to it brought on I think by the last lines. They serve, at least to me, to remind of a painful time, perhaps when mother waived from the porch as you set of to school on the bus and when you returned home something tragic had happened and mother wasnt there. I can't really put my finger on it but there is an icyness to this piece. I really like this. Great job.

I hope you are okay? A super typhoon is dangerous. I like the poem. It is nice to have good conversation and a park bench to create friendship and hope. Good visions create by the amazing poem.
