THE HANGED MAN

THE HANGED MAN

A Poem by christine zapanta andes

haven’t you look at your palm?

it’s a crossed lines of expectations

an ender’s flow of obligation

to follow what’s written down

said by a famous teller

to color a world of predictions

in your never-ending questions

of how and why?

And thou or die

Just tell a lie

or quit and sigh.

if you follow

write

if you swallow

that huge ideals beneath a mockery

try to cry

and buy a fly.
