Red Galoshes

Red Galoshes

A Poem by tmpebbles
"

A poem about a kid who is homeless. Depicts them walking through cold weather in search of love, family, and a home

"
I wear red galoshes
Treading among the freezing rain
Silently, I pray for sunshine
Yet, not to alleviate nature's drain

For hours, I span muddy acres
Leave tiny imprints in my wake
Though I know when dryness prevails
Abolished evidence will replace my stake

I will not allow that to hinder my goal
There must be a permanent home where I can stay
Complete with a family possessing unconditional love
One, who will throw my worn galoshes away
