A candle in a box

Unleashing the knowledge of a stick

In a confined space of words

Often the flame will burn the paper

Or worse

It can go out 

Only once the candle sits within

For whatever time it survives

The light it illuminates

Creates a reaction

To die in silence

Or burn in light

It makes something

Of nothing 

once created 

can never be undone

A candle's flame is so tenuous in its ability to light up what normally dwells in the dark. Secrets dance in its shadows, casting doubt on what one knows is true. The imagery of the candle's flame is used so well in this piece...it lights up the message within, flickering brightly. Very nice, Nisreen. take care...dan

Love your concept and imagery in this. "To die in silence or burn in light" we all hope our words will catch flame and burn forever. But some do just smoke and wilt.. and go out. You did an amazing job with this! :)

A beautiful comparison in this poem between a candle and its flame and the quill or pen of a poet (or keyboard, if you prefer :))
The candle of the poet is such a powerful instrument.
It illuminates. It caresses. It guides. It teaches. And on and on. And yes, It certainly does set the page ablaze and often can find itself snuffed out and alone in the darkness.
