Chipped Bronte

Chipped Bronte

A Poem by Nisreen

Image result for tree high def

Echoes to Brussels bred
The slick turn back of night trains

The ocean cross plane

Tight four wheels skidding
Dreaming on the brim of highways

The sting of the bees
A field of golden tough issues

Consultants gather on this drawing
Writing off debt to hell

Grit set rails labeled 99

Seats filled with indifference
Until the trees grew out

Leaves shedding this light
The fond ones

Examined a route
Exit to a palace

Weathering into finesse
Out of disputes

A table was set
For a country of people

Bounty filled grounds
Decorating this new form of life

English literature
Rules written on chipped wood

No longer complacent
The Middle East

In middle reach
Ships dock into sea

The world still set in motion

A brilliant way of looking at dealing with refugees from the middle east when the middle east doesn't want them. Why is that? In the first line you mention 'bussels', was that 'Brussels' the city or 'bustles' a lady's undergarment. My assumption was Brussels as head of the E.U. which is the centre of the dilemma. How do you deal with the issue of terrorists hiding among refugees or do we just take it on faith that all these are people truly in need. Middle Earth was a fantasy, this is not. Good write.

That was a typo ... thanks for your review and
If I listed and commented on all the things I enjoyed about this multi layered piece, this would be an essay. It is difficult but that I found was enticing rather than otherwise. The various parts created pathways into the readers, (or this readers) thoughts and I realised I was in for a complex journey through this map or really series of maps. The phrase 'Here be dragons' kept coming back to me from old maps I had seen. Topical fantasy; literature; travel, of course; and that title! Which is what brought me to this piece in the first place. Therefore if I have not made it clear thus far, I certainly like this.

Thank you so much Ken
After realising I was just staring at the map (I do this, especially with olde worlde maps), I began the journey into a realm of reality interspersed with fantasy, which may be the wrong word to use, as I think it is too positive a word for where we are in any given time on this crazy, messed up sphere of ours...But as you so eloquently point out in your writing, it is sometimes hard to tell reality from fantasy and truth from fiction. Yet we keep on spinning, and wondering. Wonderful, fantastical and realistic words my friend.

Hard to believe the Middle East is in so much conflict, the news and the images looks so surreal and yet for some its business as usual. Nice one fellow poet of many disguises!!!

I do my best, even if my words don't always come out right lol
the middle east like middle earth...fantasy to reality, to harsh reality back to fantasy...

a world set in motion...Tolkien set a world in motion, created...in his mind.
what as the world set in motion now...from the minds and hearts of those who hate.

such sadness...we are docked at sea...and seem permanently at sea now...
