Butterfly Undefeated

Butterfly Undefeated

A Poem by Nisreen

Uncertainty roamed the heart
Silver silk in hope

Alluring pink

Whispers of night
Spotting a surface

Dark blue glitz

Locked behind bars
Of brutal abandonment

Cordial red

Traveling a safari
Out bound to another land

Speculative yellow

Stars decide to place a map
A concept of home

Thermal brown

Wings extend beyond volumes
Of books ridden for minds

Spoken is this language
Total silence cascades

Pens risen off too many papers
Disqualifying the judge

Inscribing the policies
Deregulation in romantic dances

Barbed wire
Broken glass

The rose of fragrant wings
Colored in red engravings

Beauty dipped in oceans
Of this very round world

Edgings of Columbus
The turkey sitting on four

A boy fell to a floor
Gathering strength

Particles in the dirt
All in the instance of sight

In her eyes

A butterfly

Undefeated

Wow, that was so cool. I loved the association of colors to different situations and regardless of the situation, at the end she saw something beautiful. I really enjoyed that a lot.

'Butterfly Undefeated'
Precious Seconds,
Your use of colors and the theme of courage woven through is inspiring and so important. Life many times is difficult for everyone; of course in differing ways and degrees. But the butterfly of hope's beauty just keeps showing up, just keeps bringing it's message of hope. Hope in the human heart.
Blessings,
Kathy

Beautiful. The gentle flow of thoughts led the reader to amazing ending. Sometime the beauty of a butterfly can teach us. Life is okay. Thank you for sharing your amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear Poet.
My first thought on reading was how truly wonderful it would be to roam like that butterfly, with only colours as thoughts, and I can't shake that thought. It led me to ask "What colour am I today?" I think I would be hazel coloured today...Autumnal, coffee coloured...with hazelnut syrup of course, searching land for that one bright light of colour amongst the earth, where nature forgot to tell a lone flower it is time to go to sleep. Who knows, maybe tomorrow I will be the colour of that wild flower that clings on :)

We do indeed thanks James
love the vivid images....
romance deregulated
stars placing maps.....

I enjoy colors, so the regular mention of colors in the beginning verses were spot-on.....would have liked for that to have been a theme right through....

colorful butterfly, this one :)
ps...maybe a rather depressed topic, but I think I'm gonna dabble in writing "Butterfly defeated..."

Thank You SV
your color associations challenges my perceptions ..love it! things can go awry when taken for granted .. i think your opening lines are brilliant! simply brilliant! and very timely commentary .. "silver silk in hope" very fine stuff says i!
the same hope comes to point in your closing .. and in between could be several poems of themselves ... i don't know what it is but "Thermal brown" just strikes me ...i feel its warming .. another spontaneous and very original poem from your soul dear friend!

it comes though ...glad that you shared ...peace and joy and meditative sparkles to you ;)))
Amazing imagery dripping with color. "Dark blue glitz" is a great line.
I was delighted to see the poem echo my thoughts after I read "of this very round world". I thought of Columbus and you spoke of him directly afterwards.
Fascinating piece and I enjoyed reading it a couple of times through.

Thank you for being so supportive
Love is Blue, but Yellow is the color of my true love's hair, in the morning when we rise...
and roses bloom once more and butterflies are free.

ah yes...the songs of love and color and strength...

she flies again...never to be defeated by an abusive relationship.
