6 Ft Under

A Poem by topsyturvy

Unblinking you stare, mouth slightly agape.

What is it you see there that leaves you withered like so?

Could it be that you’ve fallen into a cavern so deep

You struggle to lift yourself through the heap?

Wild flowers re-arranged into an uncanny misfit

Naughty children singing in manic and yet so discreet

Parents trying to calm the lil fiends

Bursting pits of flames from their mouths

Hanging in vain.

Someone cut them lose

Else they’re all fair game.

Beautifully deep poetry...reminds of the kids of the philippines...life is cheap...survival of the fittest. Who cares...no one. Until its valued as such.

Very nice write, I enjoyed the choice of words, the bizarre, evil atmosphere that steams out of this. It asks questions we don't know how to answer to, it's great. Well done.
