Not Dreaming of You.

Not Dreaming of You.

A Poem by Tori Adams

Asleep.

I lie in my bed asleep,

Dreaming of you.

You do not exist.

I love you,

But you do not exist.

I want you.

I want to give my heart to you.

But where can I find you?

You would love me.

You would love me if you knew me.

But after each dream you forget me.

Asleep.

You lie in your bed asleep,

Dreaming of me.

I exist.

You love me,

And I exist.

You want me.

You want to give your heart to me.

You know where to find me.

I would love you.

I would love you if I knew you,

But I don't.

While I am dreaming of someone who does not exist,

I could be in your arms,

but instead I sleep.

I sleep for nothing.

If only I could wake up and realize what was real.

What I would truly love.

So wake me.

Wake me from my sleep,

and kiss me.

Kiss me on the cheek,

Kiss me on the lips,

Kiss me so I love you.

But I don't.

Tori Adams
A poem I wrote in a few minutes. I am not really sure why. I pretty much just wrote what I was thinking right off of the top of my head.
