The One I was

The One I was

A Poem by Kris Tate

Where can she be

The one who was me

She knew who she was

Her brain free of fuzz

She disappeared without a trace

And left me with too much to face

I no longer know who I am

She walked away with, "DAMN!"

I wish she was near

It would alleviate my fear

Then I would face the confusion

Of the small community fusion

Smaller and smaller it becomes

Claustrophobic paranoia comes

She would have pushed back

I have much less tact

She needs to be me

Where can she be?

Wow. This is a great poem about trying to figure out who you are in life. Everyone changes and with those changes we can sometimes loose ourselves, until we are later found. I really like this poem. I can relate to this right about now and have been able to in the past as well. I think you did a great job on explaining why you need to find the girl that was you. Thank you for sharing.
