Long-Lost Little Lady

Long-Lost Little Lady

A Poem by Treble
"

This came from I have no idea where.

"

I woke up crying,

Though not from bad dreams

Somehow, the sadness

Was one I could not comprehend.

Grabbing my wrist,

She would hold forever

My sleeve ripped

She grabbed my arm.

She never let go, whether there was

Sun or storm

And now I wake up once again

And now I rather think I missed the obvious

I remember a man in a dark cape.

I wondered why I imagined it.

I now realize:

Death: Death knocking on my sister's door

The last line completes the poem so wonderfully, giving meaning to every single word and emotion the poem enshrouds. You speak here of a kind of subconscious feeling about losing someone dear that surfaces at times, guess many can relate. A very unique poem, I loved it.
