Wind's Return

Wind's Return

A Poem by Terry L & Linda L Shuff
"

over coming barriers

"
A fog bank on the horizon,as a barrier to our way.
And oh the sea so tranquil
no breeze to ruffle its face.
Our ship drifting aimlessly
Her sails hang motionless.
As peacefulness the stillness brings
And teaches hearts to rest.
Some sailing on this ship of life
see doldrums as an end.
Take care fellow seafares
the wind will come again.

One of the most well-crafted metaphors I’ve seen lately. I love your description of the sea & the calmness, even without thinking of this as a symbol for the easygoing patches of life. I love the way you’ve created an original way to paint a picture to remind us of an old adage – to seize the moment. Yes, the winds will always return, so if we prefer calm, then let’s soak up every drop! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
