In My Spare Time

In My Spare Time

A Poem by Ty
"

In My Spare Time

"
In my spare time
I'd write
I'd think
Deface delayed displace, in fear
Inevitable the pond grows deep with tears
Spilling over in emotion,
Soaked loose leaf in ink
Absord sounds and aromatic citrus scents,
We become a piece of everything that grows
Murals in display amongst brick walls,
Halls of time that froze
Left in paper trails and instrumentals
Damu illuminated filaments of tungsten wire,
Of a once dull light bulb
Grown conifidence in increments
And,
If I could,
In my spare time
I'd ask you of your help,
Where is your heart, how do you present it?
I'd rewind
I'd reflect
I'd project
Endeavors and confidence,
In Auburn and Bronze feathers
Of the Red Tailed Hawk
I'd orchestrate a contraption
Or devise equations in rhythmic fractions
Divide a piece of me to hand to you
In my spare time I'd decide and debate how high to set the bar
Or
Contemplate,
Conscious decisions to distance myself
One mississippi
Two mississippi in between the thunder and lightning
To determine how far out the storm
Or how far out I've drifted
As it falls in sequence
Believe I'd refract my emotion in color of Rainbow Mountain,
Or Vinicunca, of Peru
As prisms and circumhorizontal arcs,
In my spare time,
I'd wait.

Hy Ty,you sure cover a lot of ground in your verses. You are obviously well read and your writing is spontaneous and heart felt, but perhaps it's my age that makes it more difficult to follow.I get the theme and am a fan of freeform and spatter prose but the trail in this piece seems to need a final realization of lessons learned.I'm merely a humble writer with no formal training so I hope you'll see where I'm coming from.

I could feel my mind floating away with you on this one. Very well thought out and vivid. I love your transition from the Red Tailed Hawk to counting the distance of the storm. Great stuff!

A twist on something we all experience. Glad you dropped in!
I guess there would be a whole lot of things one could do in their spare times but you present this in a lovely, dreamy way.. better to spend this way than wallowing in despair...
Love your repetitions and word choices. Well penned, Ty ((:

Not always easy, but we could substitute wallowing for creating. Thanks for dropping by!
