One Wish

A wish for something to not be true that is already decided... almost like a pointless wish, but it's still how I feel...

 If I was granted one wish,

I wish you didn't have to move.

I'm not worried about how long our relationship will last,

but I still want you in my life.

I want to go to prom with you,

I want you to come to my graduation,

as I want to go to yours.

I want to see you grow into the fine young gentlemen I know you will become.

I want to be there for your victories and losses.

I want to be the person you can always talk to,

and the shoulder you can always cry on.

I want to see where life brings you

and which one of your fantasies come true.

You are too important in my life to go away.

This move won't break our friendship,

but it will be a lot harder to keep up,

and I can't imagine my life without you.

So as I wait for the genie to grant my wish,

I try to savor every moment we spend together,

and make sure you truly know

how important you are to me,

and how much I really love you.

Something I came up with because my boyfriend has to move because of his mom's work, and I just can't imagine not having him in my life in a year...
