The Casting

The Casting

A Poem by UfoAuthor
"

Seek and you shall find...

"
The beach is quite deserted now
It is just past the witching hour
Ageless moon and stars allow
A sand-scrawled sigil's power

To form an essence within
The smoke of a simple driftwood fire
Ocean waves run thick and thin
As the sparks and I conspire

To manifest with passion
A single-minded bold desiring
Of a sweet embrace in fashion
Long faded yet never tiring

In the eyes of ancient mind
Your visage now appears to be
Form and color that all may find
As pleasing as seems to me

With smoke and fire sweet desire
Wafts beyond this sea of words and sounds
To kindred music on soulful lyre
Where loves embrace is found

This was a masterpiece of conjuring of magic spells, emotions, desire and kindred souls. Fire razes, purifies and consumes, but it also mesmerizes and seduces with hope, heat and sparks of burning passion. It's why we are drawn to it. We respect it, revere it, are frightened by its power, but ultimately we are still drawn in to its spell and press forward to be licked by those flames.

As I am apt to do when I run across an author I have not yet read, I go back to their beginning on WC. It seems your work has evolved but kept its mystical essence. I like this poem -- I hope you don't hate Anne Rice, because I am reminded of her ...

No but depending on the shoes, very fulfilling.
Very good. I love the rhyme, pace, and flow. It's almost like a folk song, something to dance to.
I love the word choice and story it conjured up in my head.
Well done!

This is a classic lyric piece of intertwining - of waves, words, smoke,
fire and fervour, Ufi.
Could be sung to any tune, no matter what the musical taste. Masterful. P

As a writer who utterly SUCKS at writing poetry, I always greatly admire those who can conquer it so beautifully. Way to go! I love it.

seek and you shall find......the invite to the poem is beautiful.as for the poem itself,i can't hold myself to a particular meaning.the words you use are so eloquently mystical themselves, they deviate me from the poem.sand scrawled sigil,conspiring.......just delicious.the words compel elusion and i found myself on that slippery ground.i would like to know your train of thoughts in particular.the transition from clairvoyance confused me a bit.the person addressed is a lost lover,i presume?i am afraid my mind is rather congested with phlegm right now,so i wont perceive in the expected way even if you call to manifold perceptions.i might be mistaken, but have you an affinity towards the occult?they fascinate me too much for others' liking
