Somewhere Lie the Daisies

Somewhere Lie the Daisies

A Poem by Alyssa Dufresne
"

Searching for the potential within...

"

Somewhere, somewhere in this room
In this room with clutter that rises to my knees
Somewhere amongst the broken crayons and nude Barbies that are buried beneath it all -
Forgotten reminders of long ago -
Lie a packet of Daisies.

And I desperately want to find them.
I know that when I do I can plant them and watch them grow.

I know that if they make it,
The African Daisies will sprout all sorts of colors.

They will be vibrant and bold
Containing colors of a strong beating heart; bright red
With yellow and white: the colors of the sunlight
That shines brightly upon the world,
and it only dampers with the bad weather
that will eventually be blown away.

But I know if I could just find those seeds
The seeds that will be the colors of a strong, beating heart and endless light
Then I can plant them and make my garden beautiful.

Somewhere lie the Daisies;
I just have to find them first.
