Admire

Admire

A Poem by Calypso

I used to admire

him from afar.

As he sat strumming

his guitar.

He seemed

very polite he would often say

with his beautiful voice

“If I may.”

His golden locks

were messy.

His favorite shirt

read ‘Big Bessie’.

His eye was

sown shut.

He told the waitress it

was caused my a mutt.

One day I had the

Courage to ask his name

He said “I’m Henry,

But were the same.”

I asked what he meant

He said. “I was born a girl.

I had a surgery done.”

When I heard this I wanted to hurl.

Hilarious. (I hope it was meant to be). I agree with Tina--powerful.

This is a powerful statement to what seemed like a totally unexpected situation.
