Last Love

Last Love

A Poem by Laura Ex

You call out to me
In the night
You call out my name
As you dig into my heart
For the last time
Oh, it’s the last goodbye
I’ll ever have to write
Because my love for you
Is so tempting, dear
Your shine, is way too bright
I can’t resist
Just one more bite
Into my pink flesh
And the ribbons, flow
Sweetly
Darkly
Romantically
Until, soon enough
The most poetic end
Can come to claim my life
Because I was in love with you
And all the pain you made go away
With your tantalizing touch
It sends chills down my spine
Until the feel good rush
Takes control of my mind
And soon the numb
Will ease the transition
From you, my love
To the comfort of my blatant surrender.

self injury. but, it can also be the surrender of one lover to another. it's beautiful.
