Prologue

A Chapter by Valendette

So..Much..Blood.

This blood, thick and scarlet, flows out of me, coating my wrist in its haunting red hue. I know I only need to wait a little while longer. Then my torment will reach its end.

No more tears.

No more pain.

Just a slow peaceful death. A quiet end.

I would finally be Free.

No longer caged by the expectations of those around me. No longer forced to strive for an excellence so far out of reach. That promise of absolute freedom is what brought the blade to my wrist. It’s the driving force that let me cut into my skin. It’s the muse for initiating my own death.

Death is a key. Life is a shackle.
