Sylvan Arms

Sylvan Arms

A Poem by Velveteen Rabbit
"

Oh, how people take for granted the beauty of a tunnel of trees..

"

On Sunday drives
    down winding roads,
        past barns,
           and fields,

             and quiet cemeteries,
my heart beats for the moment
(right in the bend of a curve)
              when the Earth
            reaches upward,
envelops my path with sylvan arms,
and clasps leafy hands above me
   in a breathless embrace.

I have half a mind to break this up into two sentences. And stick in the word "grace" somewhere at the beginning so that the word "embrace" will have a stronger effect at the end.

Your words capture the magical essence of the woods in their emerald beauty. Such a perfect soft stillness to your perfect passage...

This is a stunning piece... you are right in the tunnel of trees always being over looked... I think to many people never stop and look at all the wonderment mother nature has to offer.
