A Poem by Dana Shefelbine

fists injure green walls;

pupils constrict, dilate, constrict.

you hear nothing but the unfaltering pound coming from your chest,

sinking into your cute little ears.

with teeth clenched, blood overruns your tongue from the interior of your cheeks.

it never stops.
