Alleluia

Alleluia

A Poem by Rachel Wright
"

Ode to my first love.

"

Memories pierce me with their bite
autumn days, winter nights
lies that deluded, clouded my mind
I'm crying out, my soul is blind
now I'm fading, blood trail lined

Heartless touch that brushed my skin
and lips that left mine stained with sin
now aren't here and haven't been
since snowflakes fell and shots of gin
empoison'd me and thus herein
nicotine fills the void within

This poem has a lot of raw emotion, with some strong imagery. A very good piece!
