What gluttons for punishment we are to spend years reliving, suffering through and worrying about an inconvenient past that might somehow be exposed.
Foolishly, we often endeavor to hide a "darkness" which, most likely--even years ago--would not long have survived the light.
This is a gorgeous and exhilarating senryu, victoria; I am deeply gratified that you were finally able to write it.
