That first night

That first night

A Poem by victoria

Caught in the wardrobe door
is  that dress I wore..
and as I lie here I see only the memories
of that night,
our first date.
I feel them wash over me, like the sun
emerging, nourishing,
gently warming my body.

How we laughed,
and since.
Every moment I love you
is greater than the last,
none moreso than when
you cupped my face in your hands
and kissed me goodbye;
I thought my  heart would burst....

Every moment I love you is greater than the last, is my favorite line. Precious memories, such romance. Nice

A lovely poem though I felt the first stanza was much stronger than the second. The first bathes the reader in concrete images that convey the feelings of the speaker beyond words. The second contains more abstract statements of love that are less accessible to the reader who is getting insight into their relationship through the speaker.

A beautiful story of love in the poem. In the short poem. It had energy and the joy of love opening up for two people. Thank you for the excellent poem.
