Ow My Freaking Neck!

Ow My Freaking Neck!

A Poem by Lobster Goldberg
"

A poem about my freaking neck

"
Ow My Freaking Neck!
Always the first thing I say
No matter how well I slept
My neck hurts every day
The pain rules my life
Every day and night
I feel like I am in a battle
And I am losing this fight
It is not just below my head
All my joints cry loud
I am only in my thirties
Feeling old should not be allowed!
I try to work it out of me
Walking and riding a bike
But most days I feel a hammer
Has nailed in a metal spike
My hands are freaking killing me
I find it rather hard to type
But I need a written outlet
So give me time to gripe.

Author's Note

Lobster Goldberg
I have this freaking lame condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis.
It is an chronic autoimmune condition a lot like Rheumatoid Arthritis, but more centered in the spine. But I got it in all my joints. I am in pain every day and short of powerful drugs, there is no relief.
If you know someone with this condition, give them a little love and maybe a back-rub :)

They say that laughter is a good medicine
although I’m sure it’s not always enough
I cannot imagine just how you must feel
on days when you ache and you feel rough
So allow me to send a little tonic your way
in the form of this ditty little poem of mine
So rubbish it makes you laugh out so loud
when you get to the end you’ll feel fine...

I hope so.... great poem by you by the way... :O)

No meds, too expensive and they don't do enough. But I'm trying to stay active.

That sounds painful. The poem, however, was very witty.

Well thank you very much :)
Yep... Those autoimmune conditions are a chronic nag... Though I do not know this particular pain, I have had issues with my feet all my life. (Started a poem about it a while ago, but never finished it... Maybe I'll have to dig it out...) This is a good piece of rhythmic venting!
