Storyteller's Sea of Silence

Storyteller's Sea of Silence

A Poem by Traci

Storytellers live in dreams, write in silence

a paradox where light and darkness,

sweet joys and bitter longings

walk a pathway of invisible battles, tattoo promises.

Lingering scars rip away at stolen innocence

falling beneath life’s radar, levitating just below the abyss

of charred emotions, burnt memories, the beast of betrayal.

Shadows and demons aplenty, lurk behind the name,

wishing to feel alive, treading in warm contentness,

floating upon the surface, listening to the sound of nature,

the prayer for permanence of a worthy love.
Set one’s self free from the refracted shards of fear,

touching spirits, reaching souls,

time voyages on the low dark verge of life,

yielding hope in one hand, faith in the other,

lost to the sense of this soundless sea.

When I first came out here to California, I was in awe of the ocean. There's nothing like it, am I right? And every time I go there, it's like being there for the very first time. The sound of the waves crashing upon the shore and the strong smell of the ocean water...I think our souls are in tuned with nature at its best.

"time voyages on the low dark verge of life,
yielding hope in one hand, faith in the other"

How wonderful it is to read your musings of the sea, Traci...welcome back, my friend. I wish you endless days of poetry and friendship!

''.. levitating just below the abyss .. .. of charred emotions, burnt memories, the beast of betrayal.'

Those words near scream, they're so painful.. yet.. but.. flow on into such gentleness, such hope.. tis as if you've found your own remedy in thinking, juggling and then, placing your words.

Sadly beautiful, Traci.

Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this personal piece.
"levitating just below the abyss
of charred emotions, burnt memories..." - truly fantastic emotive imagery Traci - such strong lines.

Your writing never loses any of its potency nor does it fail to resonate and hum with universal yearning. So good. Take Care my friend. :))

This is such a beautiful piece. I really love how the font that you have chosen to execute this piece has complimented it so much. I also really love your choice of words as well as your language and the imagery is simply divine. I also really love the name that you have appointed the this poem. Storyteller's Sea of Silence. Its actually what pulled me in to read this poem. I also like how well you were able to capture the inner feeling of a writer. Which is really hard to do.
Keep up the great work. Continue being inspired.
